چکیده

Emissions from vessels are a major environmental concern because of their impacts on the deterioration environment, especially global warming atmosphere. Therefore, International Maritime Organization (IMO) concerns significant care to protection through reduction exhaust emission and improvement energy efficiency technical operational measures. Among suggested measures IMO, alternative fuel such as natural gas has priority be used instead fossil fuels. The present paper calculates effect using in dual-fuel engine perspectives. As case study, container ship been investigated. results analysis show that percent CO2, NOx, SOx corresponding operated by diesel heavy oil is about 30.4%, 85.3%, 97%, respectively. Moreover, it found NOx rates comply with IMO 2016 2020 limits, Furthermore, Energy Efficiency Design Index value lower than 30%, this will 77.18%, 86.84%, 99.27% required for first, second, third phases, respectively, recommended IMO.

Thermal Energy Storages in Vehicles for Fuel Efficiency Improvement

Feasibilities of heat and cold storage technologies for vehicles were discussed for improvement of vehicle fuel efficiency. Energy performance of a plug-in cold thermal energy storage system, in which ice slurry is produced at a stationary chiller and charged into a tank in a vehicle for cabin and cargo cooling, was discussed. Energy balance of the plug-in system was compared with onboard heat ...

Improvement of Overall Efficiency in the Gas Transmission Networks: Employing Energy Recovery Systems

This study mainly focuses on enhancing the overall efficiency of gas transmission networks. The authors developed a model with detailed characteristics of compressor and pressure reduction stations. Following this, they suggested three different systems with gas turbine including: organic rankine cycle (ORC), air bottoming cycle (ABC), and ABC along with steam injection (SI-ABC). In addition, u...
